We've still got plenty of time left for Fortnite's
Star Wars event, but it looks like the winter event waits for no one. Fortnite's Winterfest Challenge reportedly starts today, according to Forbes, and it looks like there's plenty of info to digest. That said, it appears that HypeX, the same data miner who found some images of the new Winterfest Challenge lobby menu, also determined that Epic has removed the text that reads "Get ready for seasonal fun, challenges and free presents. Starts December 17."
At the time of writing (9:30am Pacific Time), it appears that the Fortnite Winterfest Challenge hasn't started quite yet. So it's possible that the event could be delayed further, at least until later today.
Various Fortnite data miners like HypeX were the first to find some images and video of the new in-game lobby menu, which has been converted into a winter cabin.
The lobby itself has various animations to play around with, like a nutcracker and the roaring fireplace. It's unclear if they're just little cosmetic distractions or if they're tied to any sort of challenge or gameplay.
So what does this Winterfest Challenge entail exactly? Here's a rundown of the previously leaked challenge list.

In other Fortnite news, did you know that Ninja and Mark Hamill are teaming up for a stream on December 19? It's still a mystery what they'll be doing, but it certainly is a clash of cultural forces.
